Fertilizer & Pesticide Curtailment

All of us as citizens of our community must do our part to restore our waterways. The use of lawn fertilizers and pesticides must be reduced as these inevitably runoff into our streams and rivers. Midshore RIVERKEEPER® Conservancy supports a curtailment in the use of lawn treatments. In our communities, a fertilized green lawn should become a badge of dishonor.

Midshore Riverkeepers® are working with state and local officials to help draft legislation that would significantly reduce phosphorus and nitrogen pollution derived from lawn fertilizers and to help educate our communities about the significant impact lawn fertilizers across the state and Bay watershed have on water quality.
